Dusk was falling over the academy, and that meant that it was almost time for Victoria to leave the library. She was trying to study hard for her next exam, but she was always distracted by the smallest things. Someone could be whispering a few seats away from her, and she would have to stop to listen to what they were saying. Honestly, Victoria didn't have a whole lot of friends here, so when she got the opportunity to listen to gossip, she did. It wasn't that she enjoyed the gossip, but it kept her up to date on the latest things so that when people DID ask her, she knew. No need to look like a clueless kid, now was there? After reading her final notes, Victoria backed up her books, and slung her backpack over her shoulder. As she walked out, she gave a polite nod to the librarian, who in return gave her a small smile. Victoria wouldn't mind becoming a librarian. They must lead a peaceful life, and who wouldn't love to be surrounded by books? Victoria knew she would love it.
As she walked out of the library, Victoria let her gaze wander up to the sky. It looked beautiful, and peaceful. The stars not fully out, but there were just enough to make the sky look majestic. Victoria pondered, and decided that she was going to take a walk through the forest. It had been a while since she let herself get in touch with nature. Sure, she knew she shouldn't be out after dark, but the cool weather, and peaceful sky were just too tempting to pass up. Before she went wandering into the woods, she stopped by her dorm to put her backpack up, and change shoes. Sandals weren't really the best thing to wear when walking through a forest after all. After changing her shoes, she grabbed a light jacket, and made her way back outside.
Victoria was excited to be out, and in nature. She could feel it gravitate towards her, and she drank in the energy she was getting from it. Grandmother Tabitha always said that if nature took to you, it meant you were destined for great things. Victoria didn't think she was meant for anything great, but she sure did like the thought of it. Sure, she knew that someday she would lead the coven, and then join the elders, but other then that, she didn't think she would be anything special. Victoria shook herself from her thoughts when she heard a twig snap to her left. She jerked herself to a stop, and tried to be rational. Not everything out here is cute and furry like Oliver, she had to remind herself. She decided to remain calm, and keep walking, but more cautiously. A few more feet, and she heard a few more twigs snap. Victoria swirled around, and said, "Hello, is anyone there?" AS soon as she said it, she rolled her eyes at herself. "Yes, Victoria. If a murderer is following you, they are going to say hello back," she mumbled to herself. She glanced back around, but she couldn't see anyone or anything. Victoria's breathing became heavy, and she started walking the way she came. Maybe coming out here at night wasn't her brightest idea.
