This is not how Victoria intended her night to go. All she had wanted to do was have a nice stroll through the woods, and recharge. She didn't want to be the next meal of some deranged vampire! Victoria closed her eyes, and sent a small prayer not for herself, but for her family. She hoped that they would not mourn for her long, and that they would know she died with some dignity. She opened her eyes again to see that the vampire wasn't looking at her for the moment, but instead looking at Chase. Maybe he would be smart, and run once the vampire was distracted. Then, at least to her, she wouldn't die in vain. At least someone would make it out alive, even if he had encouraged the vampire to kill her. Victoria didn't plan him really. It was human nature to protect oneself in light of danger. It would basically be like if a bear was chasing them, and he just happened to run faster then her.
When the vampires fangs pierced her neck, Victoria screamed. A few moments later, the pain slowly started to disappear. She saw what life she could of had, flash before her. Victoria saw herself graduating, taking over her coven, and marrying. She even saw a glimpse of children running around, but then something started to change. Suddenly, she wasn't seeing her life. These images weren't of the life she had, or a life she would have had. These were someone's else's memories; another's thoughts, and life. It started off extremely blurry, and fast. Things were whipping by her, and she couldn't latch on to anything, and then suddenly she was there. She could see him laying in a bed, and badly burnt. Victoria reached out a hand towards his face, but was ripped away before could touch him. The same boy from the bed was walking away from another man when she saw several people attack them. Victoria had to turn away; it was horrific. She couldn't imagine having to go through something like that.
After the last splurge of images, Victoria saw nothing but darkness. She wasn't sure if it was a memory, or if she was finally dying. She hoped she was dying. Victoria didn't think she could handle another intense memory such as the ones she just had. She hadn't realized whose memory it had been until now; it was his life. The one who was taking hers now. Victoria tried not to feel sympathy for the vampire, but she couldn't help it. There was something about it that was just so horrifying about seeing someone's life being taken from them.
