PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION::
Lachlan Harrison is played by: Thomas Dekker. Lachlan stands at 5’10” with dark brown hair and blue/green hazel eyes. His hair is kept at an average length, not too long and not too short. It’s just long enough that he can style it when he’s working. If he isn’t working he may just let it lay flat, and it usually ends up looking quite shaggy. He has a pretty good tan from living in Australia his whole life. HE likes to stay fit, and this shows on his body. He can pack quite the punch. He isn't super defined but it is quite easy to tell that there is muscle there. There are times when you might see him with some scruff, especially if he doesn’t work for a few days. It doesn’t bother him to have it. Of course, he does make sure it looks good and doesn’t get unruly. He only leaves it for a day or two though before he’ll shave it off.

Since Lachlan is used to the heat of Australia, coming to a place that is much colder has changed what he likes to wear. Instead of the shirts and tank tops he would’ve worn in Australia, he has now shifted to longer sleeved shirts and jackets. There are some days, if it’s hot enough, that he might be seen wearing a regular shirt. But it’s colder here than back home. His body isn’t used to the cold so he stick to long-sleeves in times when people here would be wearing shirts. His normal lower apparel consists of jeans. He doesn’t like skinny jeans and much more often will be seen in regular fit jeans. For shoes, he’ll usually stick to boots. He used to not care about brands and would only look for comfort, but ever since getting his new jobs, he's learned that what he wears really does mater. He won't go for the super expensive brands, but his clothes are really nice and up there in the price range.

LIKES::
*Heights: Although one of his shifts prefers floors, two of his main shifts enjoy climbing and gliding between trees.
*Small Spaces: This is thanks to two of his shifts that like to sleep and/or live in burrows.
*Art: Over the years he's gotten a pretty good eye at different things, painting, sculptures, etc. and he enjoys decorating his home in different pieces.
*Nighttime/Nightlife: His shifts are most active at night and this has gone to his job as well. He tends to like working at night more so than during the day.
*Meat: All of his shifts are carnivores and Lachlan prefers a good steak over broccoli anytime. The only thing about this is that his sugar glider half does give him weird cravings at certain parts of the year. Sugar gliders are insectivorous during summer (although Lachlan has never eaten any insects as a human) and exudativorous during winter (meaning they like acacia gum, eucalyptus sap, manna, honeydew, nectar, pollen, fruits, and lerp which Lachlan has taken a liking to certain fruits and nectars during that time of the year.
*Hunting: Although rare, Lachlan does enjoy letting his shifts take almost complete control in the forests to let them hunt. Cougars are ambush predators and will not eat food that they have not killed themselves. So in order for Lachlan to keep the cougars cravings at bay a free hunt is needed every once in awhile.
DISLIKES::
*People touching/breaking his stuff. He's very peculiar about things being in the right place.
*Country music: He's never taken a real liking to it. He prefers music that has a good beat and is easy to dance too.
*Snow and Rain: One of his shifts goes into a sort of torpor during these times and he just much prefers the sun.
*Owls: Although two of his shifts could easily take care of an owl, when a Sugar Glider owls are the worst predator and that has shifted to a high disliking of the birds when human.
*Illegal substances: He can handle alcohol and smoking, he partakes in both at times, but anything illegal is a big no-no to him.

GENERAL::
A lot of Lachlan’s personality comes from his shifts as do a majority of his likes and dislikes. He is his shifts as they are him. A huge part of his personality is his ability to be very territorial. Two of his shifts are highly territorial: his cougar side will kill to defend it and sugar gliders will viciously attack to defend. Although he won’t get to this extent, if he does find someone that is not supposed to be there, he will get pissed off and even might get violent if they don’t leave. The loft is his place and people that he doesn’t trust fully are pretty much not allowed. Thanks to sand cats being wanderers they are what really keep him from getting too possessive over things that are his. He just really needs to trust you and that you will respect his loft and items. Along with this comes his slight OCD. His OCD is in organization. Everything has a place and that place doesn’t need to be moved unless it will be put exactly back where it had been. His protectiveness also goes hand-in-hand with these. All three of his shifts are protective whether it be of their home, young, mates, or family. Although sand cats and cougars are solitary, Lachlan isn’t prone to wanting to be alone and will protect anyone that he is with that he cares about. This brings us to him being social. Although Lachlan is scared of long-term commitment (i.e. marriage, kids, etc.) it’s not to say it won’t ever happen. Lachlan is a very social person; it goes great with his job. He knows it’s possible that one day he might meet someone that he will want to spend the rest of his life with. He just fears that it might fail thanks to his shifts really only wanting mates during mating season.

Lachlan is a very confident person, and that came from his job. He has to be confident when bartending or stripping. His audience relies on him knowing what they want. In order to give them that, he has to be able to go up to anyone asking if they want drinks, talking them into ordering drinks, or vibing off the person and finding out exactly what they are into. He can be very curious and the saying curiosity killed the cat would probably best fit him. He has gotten himself into situations he probably wasn’t needed in thanks to that curiosity. These situations could’ve been extremely bad, but luckily they turned out all right. One of these days though, it is all going to go extremely wrong. Lachlan is also very venal meaning that if he is unsure about something a bribe could get him to do almost anything. The bribe could be anything from money, to drinks, to other activities. When talking to people he is comfortable with, you can find Lachy with a bit of dry and sarcastic humor. He’s always been this way and has never been able to get out of it.

Lachlan is usually a very alert person. He pretty much always is aware of his surroundings and what is going on in them. This is thanks to one of his shifts being an ambush predator, another having amazing hearing, and another having great eyesight. Because of this, he is able to constantly be aware. This is even heightened at night since all of his shifts are crepuscular, meaning active around twilight or nighttime. This is why he has the jobs he does. There are times when you can catch him unaware though. During really cold days, rainy days, and even snowing days his body goes into a sort of torpor. During these times he isn’t his usual active person and will instead become very sluggish. He’ll zone out quite often and can be found just staring at the same spot on the wall for hours on end. His activity is greatly reduced to the point where he almost becomes immobile and unresponsive. It is possible to get him out of the state, it just takes a lot of constant poking and prodding as for the first couple times he will actually ignore you. This usually lasts until the rain or snow lets up. If it does stay cold for a majority of the time, you could possibly find him bundled up by a fire trying to get his body warm and going again. This is in complete thanks to his sugar glider, as they will actually shut down their bodies during rainy or cold seasons.

Lachlan is actually a very good friend that you could go to just about anything with. He’ll side with you no matter what and even fight for you. As for relationships, as stated before, he is nervous about life-long commitments. But he isn’t prone to being alone. He’s had quite a number of hookups, boy and girl, and even a few boyfriends and girlfriends. None have lasted very long though as he always found himself pulling away. He just needs someone to pull him back in and keep him there if they really want him.

HISTORY::
Everyone thought that Harley was Hazel’s first child. But that couldn’t of been more wrong. Although Hazel had been dating Gerard since high school, she had an ongoing affair with Huxley. When she started showing signs of her true first pregnancy, Lachlan was being carried at this time, she disappeared with Huxley. When she did finally have Lachlan, she left almost immediately afterwards and claimed that it was a mistake to get involved with Huxley when she still loved Gerard. Huxley being extremely upset moved across the world to Australia. It was always a dream of his to go there and visit and his visit turned into a long-time stay when he realized just how nice it was there. Being a single father and raising a son was extremely difficult. A lot of the time, Lachy was left at home with a sitter while his father was at work. But as soon as his father was back home, the role of a father fell easy to him. As Lachy grew up, neither knew that Hazel had ended up marrying Gerard and was actually pregnant with Lachlan’s half-sister.

For Huxley, life couldn’t of been better. He had found love in an Australian woman that couldn’t carry her own child and had accepted Lachlan almost right away. Of course Lachlan, never having had a real mother before, had been ecstatic and had started calling April his mother. By this time, Lachlan was four years old and little Harley had been born. As Lachlan grew, he started realizing that his dad was a bit odd. He’d come home and sometimes his once perfect clothes would be tattered. When Lachlan would ask about it, Huxley would claim that he would explain everything when Lachlan was just a little bit older. When Lachlan finally entered school, he found that there were others who had witnessed their parents doing or acting weird at times. Lachlan decided to chalk it up to just an adult thing. He didn’t realize that the school he was in was a school only for the supernatural and that was why everyone had parents that were acting odd.

As the years went on, Lachlan was found to actually be a decent student. He didn’t get the perfect straight A’s every parent wanted but he didn’t fail either. He was perfectly average. And as he grew up his dad started telling him weird stories involving vampires and shifters and witches. Lachlan would always enjoy these stories and it wasn’t long until he realized that other kids at his school were getting told similar stories as well. By the time Lachlan was 8 years old, he noticed that April wasn’t coming around anymore. He started talking to his dad about this and found out that April had fallen out of love with his father. At least, that was what Huxley had told him. The real story was that April had found Huxley in bed with another women, Hazel. Hazel of course had left once discovered and had flown back to Gerard. But April wouldn’t have it. She found out that the lady she had discovered Huxley with was Lachlan’s actual mother and fearing that later on she would fall in a deeper love with Huxley, only to get her heart broken, she left.

This one time fling resulted in another Hazel getting pregnant for the fourth and final time. She had had two kids with Gerard, Harley and Bruce, and two with Huxley, Lachlan and Lillian. Hazel claimed to love both men, but was able to convince Gerard that Lillian was his as well. Gerard and the three children in America never found out about Lachlan and Huxley. But it seemed that Hazel had had enough of loving both Gerard and Huxley and had finally chosen one of the men in her life. At the age of nine years old, Lachlan opened the door one night to a lady crying and claiming to be his mother. Huxley had come to the door and at first had been furious with Hazel and had demanded that she leave and never come back. He had had enough of her coming and going and leaving him hurting each time. Plus, he didn’t want Lachlan growing up thinking that Hazel’s behavior was acceptable, of course Huxley’s behavior wasn’t as well but he ignored that.

But after a long talk, the two adults realized that they did actually have feelings for each other and Hazel could stay. At first things were tense. They danced around each other and didn’t know what could be the right things to say. Hazel never even told Huxley about Lillian being his and she didn’t tell him about the other kids. She didn’t know what would happen to her if she ended up telling him about them. The kids were kept secret for years. Life started getting normal for Huxley and Hazel and Lachlan. Lachlan was very hesitant about Hazel at the beginning, after all it isn't every day someone shows up on your porch claiming to be your mother. But after a few weeks of Hazel being there and never leaving, the idea of that being his mother cemented itself into Lachlan's mind. And a couple months after that he started to call her mom, it was a rare thing, but it would happen. By the time Lachlan was turning 12, Huxley and Hazel were getting married and it was becoming official.

Lachlan, at this time, was completely okay with calling Hazel mom and had fallen into the role of almost being a momma's boy. It wasn't until Lachlan was 15 that things really changed. Lachlan had always been a bit different at school. Instead of liking sports like most of the boys, Lachlan preferred art. Even more different was the fact that Lachlan never really dated. He'd talk to both girls and boys and treat them exactly the same. He found himself liking both genders and he wasn't sure if that was okay as he had never met anyone like that before. So he kept it hidden. Not even his best friends, one was actually a girl and one was actually a boy, knew of this. But it was at a party that this would come out. In a drunken game of truth or dare, Lachlan was dared to kiss a boy sitting next to him. This was a normal thing as everyone was almost dared to kiss someone of the same sex or someone they were supposed to hate. They were highschoolers and they were stupid. But then he was asked, with a truth, who was the cutest at the party. And Lachlan being not sober, claimed this girl named Zoe was cute. But he didn't stop there. He then added that her twin, Joe, was also cute.

And well, although drunk, the other student didn't forget this. The following Monday at school, Lachlan got cornered by a couple of the jocks from the sports teams and was ridiculed for liking boys. Lachlan was confused as he had no recollection of that night. But with the constant teasing and shoving his confusion started turning to anger. Who cared if he liked both genders? He didn't deserve this kind of treatment! Minutes seemed to turn to hours and his anger turned to pain as his body forced him through his first shift. Of course the people that had been picking on him were vampires so they were able to quickly get away from the angry cougar, but that didn't stop him from attacking another student and a teacher. He wasn't in control. Luckily the principal realized this and when they were finally able to get him under control and get him shifted back, there were no real repercussions apart from a weeks detention.

But after that day, people stopped picking on him. They were scared of what the boy who could turn into a cougar could do to them. While Lachlan fought to control that shift, his others shifts started making themselves known. Second came his Sand Cat kitten shift, which he was unlucky enough to shift into in front of his friends who never let him live it down to this day, and lastly came his Sugar Glider shift that came in the safety of his own home. While Lachy was quick to hate the cougar and sand cat shift, he found himself really liking his sugar glider shift, as that was the easiest to control. But in all, Lachy enjoyed being a shifter. He actually spent most of his time lounging around his house as his shifts. He found it freeing and it made them all easier to have control of if he did that.

High school went on for the young shifter and before long he found himself graduating. However, there was a problem. He had no idea what he wanted to do out of high school. His parents automatically started enrolling him in colleges, stating that he would find his way and things would fall into place. But after his first year, nothing changed. He still had no direction. He continued on in college purely for his parents as he had no real want to be there. It wasn’t until he started going on and partying with his friends that he found something that he thought was really interesting. Instead of spending all his time out on the floor dancing, he’d fins himself sitting at the bar and watching the bartenders doing their work. It was one of these nights that a bartender took pity on him and showed the young boy what to do. He actually brought him behind the bar and taught him how to fling the bottles and how to make some of the more popular jobs.

It was on a night when the manager wasn’t supposed to be coming in. Unfortunately he did end up coming in. He was pissed that someone he didn’t hire was working behind the bar. But after watching Lachlan for a few minutes he realized the kid had a certain talent for it. After talking to the manager later that night Lachlan was actually hired as a part-time bartender. He spent most of his first couple months there shadowing the other bartenders and learning all the different drinks he would end up having to make. When he finally started going on his own, they found him to be a quick learner and soon enough he was making drinks for anyone and everyone and getting people to tell him their stories over drinks. Although Lachlan was happy in this job, he couldn’t help but think something was still missing.

It wouldn’t be a year later by the time Lachlan figured out what this missing link was. Huxley and Hazel were moving to a house closer to the main part of Australia and because of this, Lachlan was in the attic of the house and looking though boxes. Anything deemed trashed or not needed by the small family was being thrown out. And Lachlan almost threw out the box that would change his view on Hazel. As Lachlan looked through the box tilted ‘America Memories’ he was astounded to see pictures of his mom with another man and three children, one only looking to be days old. When Lachlan confronted Hazel about the pictures at first she was silent, but as soon as Huxley walked in the room and saw the pictures Hazel broke down. She told the two everything. From Harley all the way to Lillian and that Lillian was in fast Huxley’s. Huxley was silent before leaving the room. By that time Hazel was in tears.

And Lachlan? Lachlan had no idea how to feel. He had siblings! Something he had wanted for years he now had three. Of course with this news he went to his dad to talk. He was surprised that his dad actually didn’t want to get to know Lillian. He claimed that although the girl, who would’ve been 11 by then, was his genetically, he didn’t help raise her. But he supported Lachlan’s decision in wanting to go to America to see and meet his siblings. So, after finding out the information about who his siblings were and where they might be, he up and left. America wasn’t that easy to fit into. Things were different there. People drove on the opposite side of the road and even the money system was different. But fitting into Collision Falls was easy. The nightlife scene was almost like it was created for him and soon he found himself getting hired at a local bar.

But what he got paid was not nearly enough to pay for the loft after a few months. That weekend he went in search of another job at night and was prepositioned with something he thought insane at the beginning. After a night of it though, he found himself easily fitting in and actually enjoying the job. Sure it wasn’t something that his mom or dad would be proud of, but it was fun. And it made extremely good money. The only real problem with the move to America was his outdated information. When he went to the supposed address of where his siblings were supposed to be, he found out that Gerard had died and the children had gone to live with another relative. And of course the new owners did not have the address of the new residence. Lachlan was stuck and only had a picture to go off of. He’s been in CF for about a year now and is thinking he is so close to finding his siblings. He just hopes that they actually want something to do with him when he finally comes across them.
