I just can't get enough of you
The pedal's down, my eyes are closed

Nick had actually done what he thought we was never going to do. He had taken the chance and given a pretty girl his number while he was working. Sure it probably wasn’t the best thing to do while he was on the job, but what if he never saw her again? He had had to take that chance. And the chance had actually turned out perfectly. They had been texting for the past couple days and Nick had grown the courage to ask if she had wanted to hang out. He didn’t want to make it an official date, right off the bat. What if she was just being friendly and didn’t actually feel that way about him? Plus they had only talked in person at the store. He felt that they needed a little more to go on before actually taking her out on one.
He had had to work that morning so Harley and Nick had decided to hang out later that day. And when he had arrived back home, he had sent her a quick text asking if they were still on. By the time he had exited his shower, she had replied that they were. So with a quick question to his twin asking if he looked all right, even though this wasn’t a date he wanted to look at least decent, he headed out the door and to the park. He thought the park was the best place to head to first since it wouldn’t be like arriving at the movies or some place to eat, which could be seen as a date. From the park they could easily go anywhere in town. If they were hungry they could go eat. If they wanted to relax, they could enjoy the outside or walk to the movies. Hell, he even thought they were having a small carnival in town. There were so many options they could choose from at the park.
The walk from his house to there wasn’t that bad of one. Collision Falls was a small town and the weather was actually nice. There was just a slight wind to keep the sun from being too hot to enjoy. But he was surprised when he had gotten there earlier than expected. He was early, almost too early. They still had almost 15 minutes before the agreed upon time. To kill some time he headed over to one of the benches and sat down. He took out his phone and made himself busy with some games. He still had Flappy Bird, even if the app had been deleted from the app store a while ago. That game was always a time killer and before long the right time was approaching, as he shut off the game he started looking around for her. It was almost past the time now.
But Nick wasn’t getting worried. After all, this wasn’t a date. She could run late. Plus, wasn’t it a thing for girls to be running late all the time? He frowned at himself for those thoughts. That wasn’t a good thing for him to think at all. He knew it wasn’t true. His sister and mother were proof of that. His mother hated being late and his sister tried her hardest to get to places on time or at least a minute or too early. Figuring that maybe she might be some place else in the park, he got up from his bench and started walking back towards the entrance. He’d start there and work his way in. They’d have to come across each other at some point.
