Mason could already tell that this day wasn’t going to be a good one from the moment he woke up. First, his alarm clock didn’t go off which meant that he couldn’t take his morning shower. It wasn’t that bad, he had showered before he went to bed he just wanted one to help him wake up. Since his alarm clock didn’t go off like it was supposed to he didn’t have enough time to style his hair in the quiff he had been putting up. Instead he had to tug on a beanie that he knew some of the teachers were going to ask him to take off. He didn’t understand why they did that. What if he was just trying to keep his ears warm? It was a stupid rule.
Then of course his normal pair of skinny jeans, then again he wore skinny jeans everyday so who was he to say which ones were his actual normal ones, couldn’t be found. So that means he had to put on the ones that he hadn’t worn in what seemed like forever, and this was just because they were so much tighter than the normal ones. When he had finally managed to get those on, and stretched a little in them since they felt brand new, he barely had enough time to just grab the first shirt in his closet. Finally having some clothes on, he grabbed his backpack, slid on his all black converse and basically ran out the door.
The third thing that had to go wrong was him not being able to get a cup of coffee, or even an energy drink. He had no time to stand in that line and wait for it. When he did finally arrive at his class he was 10 minutes late and the teacher frowned at him and yelled at him to take off the beanie. So he had and had run a hand through his bedhead hair as he took a seat. He kept getting odd looks and he didn’t really piece it together until he looked down and noticed he was wearing all black. That wasn’t unusual, but he guessed the odd fact was the shirt he was wearing. It probably wasn’t really school appropriate. It was a black shirt that had ‘I’m Dead, Wanna Hook Up?’ written in American Horror Story type writing. He could feel his face heating a bit as he looked down at his desk and stated following the grains with one of his fingers.
After getting a talking to about showing up late, wearing beanies, not having a pen or pencil or even paper (yeah, he had forgotten to put everything back in his backpack from doing homework the night before), and having a shirt with a type of suggestive theme on it he was finally able to go to his next class. And he wasn’t entirely looking forward to that one as well. He tugged his beanie back on his head as he started walking there. At least he wouldn’t be late to this one. Mason was actually one of the first ones in the room, apart from the teacher, and when his eyes wandered over to the board he noticed that there was a paper hanging on it. Curiosity over took him as he noticed that above it ‘Check to see if your name is on it’ was written in bold on the board.
So of course, Mason walked over to the paper and started skimming over it. His eyes caught Oliver’s name on it and then a little below Oliver’s name was Mason’s own name. He turned to look at the teacher to ask her but she was already talking. “I’m going to talk about it during class.” Mason only nodded before heading back to his desk in the back. As he waited for more people to start filing in, his mind started racing with what exactly that list was for. Sure Mason hadn’t been the best student in this class, but it wasn’t necessarily his fault. He glanced up as he saw someone start walking down the row. When his eyes caught Oliver’s he couldn’t help the light blush that over took his features. It had been a few months since the project and the night Mason had gotten drunk at that club. Luckily they had actually passed on the project. Luckily was putting it lightly though. Ever since that night the two boys hadn’t stopped their thing. Mason didn’t know what to call it and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to put a label to it.
He enjoyed kissing Oliver. Hell, he really enjoyed it. But that’s all they had ever done. Kiss. And although Mason felt a little put out at that, he wasn’t going to say anything since he was also sort of glad. He still didn’t know what exactly he was. What if this was just a Oliver thing and Mason still only liked girls…and Oliver? The young blond still hadn’t found any other guy attractive, but then again it seemed like he wasn’t really looking at anyone else. Things with his roommate hadn’t been the best either. Recently he had started to get sucked into his dreams. And Mason really didn’t want to be in them. He shook his head from those thoughts as a grimace came over his features and he cringed at his thoughts.
As soon as Oliver sat down, Mason was speaking. ”Don’t say anything about it.” It was pretty vague, but he knew Oliver and he knew that his shirt would get some kind of comment about it. This was his way of bracing himself for whatever Oliver would say, because Mason just felt that even with him saying that, Oliver would say something. He didn’t look up at Oliver except to spare a quick glance and half smile.
Notes: In my next post I'll have the teacher do the talking. There's a special way I have it set up >
