{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }
I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL
- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIR
Ever since Asher had moved to Collision Falls, he had had the urge to go and run the forests. But other things were more import than going after his own wants. He needed to make sure his mom was all moved in, and he had to get a job, and he had to finally be enrolled in the academy. Now that all of that stuff was done, he could finally have some time to himself. And he planned to use that time to do what he had wanted to do since the beginning. Which was why he found himself sneaking out of his room near midnight to go and run to the forest. His ears were on high alert for any sound, and his eyes were watching the shadows. Really, it shouldn’t of mattered if he snuck out or not.
He was 18 after all. But, still it was the school rules. It was Monday night and he had his first classes at this school in the morning. But he was feeling slightly restless. As he broke the forest line, he smiled to himself as he could feel his bones already shifting. Within moments he was running on all fours as a wolf. Each time his paws dug into the soil, they’d push him to go even faster. It was a wonderful feeling to feel the wind rush through his coat. His ears were perked forward and would swivel to the sides occasionally whenever he thought he might be hearing something.
As he came to a clearing with a small stream, he paused and walked over to it carefully. The wolf sniffed at the air, checking for anything he might not be able to hear or see before leaning forward slightly to drink from the running water. As it came back up, it spotted a rock that seemed to hang over the small stream. His head tilted to the side as he made his way up the trail to the rock. When he finally was walking on the rock he stopped at the edge and looked over. As he sat down on his haunches, his ears flicked back and forth. The forest seemed so quiet. And that just wouldn’t do.
Without a second thought, he tilted his head back and let out a lone howl. The sound carried on for a few moments before he stopped and listened. As he heard a couple more howls in the distance, his tongue lolled out the side of his mouth. So there were more wolves in this forest. For a moment he wondered if they were other shifters, werewolves, or just regular wolves. But before he could send out another howl, the sound of walking came from behind him. His head turned to look back into the forest, and he took off running into the bushes nearby. If it was a human, it wouldn’t be good for them to see a wolf this close. Especially since Asher wouldn’t attack a human. As he made it into the forest line, he turned around and laid on the ground. He shuffled forward slightly on his belly, his paws helping him get a good grip on the ground. He leaned his muzzle forward onto his paws as his eyes peered out from a small gap in the bushes. What kind of person would venture this far into the forest at night?
