It had been a few days since the whole kiss. And Mason was still super confused. He didn’t understand exactly how to feel about it. While he had thought that he wasn’t going to like it, his reaction had been the complete opposite. He had actually enjoyed it, and that’s what scared him. Avoidance wasn’t the best way to figure things out but it was the only thing that made sense in his mind. He somehow managed to convince his roommate that he was sick, it was actually a little easier than he thought it would’ve been thanks to what Oliver had said, and Mason had been able to skip classes on Thursday and Friday.
But now it was Saturday and he still didn’t know how he felt about it. He flopped down on his bed after showering and let out a huff. Why did this have to be so difficult?! He liked the kiss. So what? That didn’t mean anything; Oliver was just a good kisser. It didn’t matter that Mason wanted to do it again, and many more times after that. He ran a hand through his still damp hair as he sat up. He had wasted the whole day, locked away in his room, not answering his phone, and definitely not answering the door. He had skipped out on hanging with Reid, because he wasn’t ready to tell anyone just yet.
He bit his lip as he grabbed his phone, ignoring the icon that said he had missed calls and texts. He’d respond back when he felt like he could. His eyes quickly scanned over the webpage about attractions in Collision Falls. None of these served underage kids though. Tossing his phone on his bed, he quickly stood up and walked over to the door. As he leaned out into the hall, he saw some guy, that he remembered was named Nathan, a few feet away. Now normally, Mason would’ve just let him walk. But he knew that Nathan knew of some places in the special part of town that served underage kids, not caring of the consequences since only the supernatural knew of the places. So, with that in mind he called out to him. Nathan turned and looked at Mason with a raised eyebrow until Mason waved him over. He dropped his voice lower so that others around couldn’t hear. ”Where’s the best place to go to?” Nathan looked confused for a second before grinning widely. “There’s this once place named Deviate. They don’t card. Ever. They could care less for your age as long as you pay.” Mason nodded at the information before thanking him. As Nathan walked off to his room, Mason stepped back inside and locked the door. Now to get ready for tonight.
A few hours later and Mason was once again stepping out of his dorm. He turned his head from side-to-side and when seeing no one, closed the locked door behind him. His roommate was already fast asleep. As he crept down the hall, he froze at every little sound. It took awhile, but when he finally made it outside, he breathed a breath of relief. Perfect. Now just a couple yards to the gate and he was free. When he finally stepped outside the gates, he closed them behind him slowly as he remembered how loudly they had clanged shut when he arrived that long month ago. And then he was on his was to Deviate. Walking through the city to get to Falls Alley was the easy part. But as he looked up at the neon sign with the name of the club, he wondered what exactly he was getting himself into.
He walked in anyways and was automatically grinning at the loud thump of music that pounded at his ears. For a moment he just sort of paused and looked around. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to dance. He sort of just wanted to drink away his confusion. He’d never had a drink before, but he’d seen people drunk and most just didn’t have a care in the world. He wanted that feeling. He turned towards where the bar was and headed over there. The bartender paused momentarily before shrugging and walking over to him. “What can I get you?” And to say Mason looked lost would be speaking lightly. He just stared back at the bartender and as he went to speak, the guy chuckled lightly, “First time?” Mason nodded. “We’ll start you off on something easy then.”
And with that he was making Mason his drink and moments later, sliding it down to the blonde boy. Mason nodded his thanks and stared at the drink for a short while before lifting it and taking a small drink. It didn’t taste too bad. A little bit if a burn on the way down, but nothing he couldn’t handle. With that his night got started. Within a couple hours he had lost count after seven. But he knew he drank way more than that, but honestly he couldn’t find himself caring. He was feeling too good. All his worries seemed to disappear. When the bartender handed him his next one, he couldn’t help but give a laugh at the boy. “Feeling good, then?” And Mason was nodding as he went to drink the next one. But a presence was felt next to him and when he turned, he couldn’t help the smile on his face at the person next to him.
The guy was actually decent looking. All brown hair and blue eyes. And as he asked Mason to dance, the back of his mind was warning him not too, but he still stood up and nodded. And then he was being lead onto the dance floor. Soon they were dancing and the guy, who looked maybe a year or two older than Mason, was pressed up against his back. And after a few songs the guy started getting handsy, and he was kissing down Mason’s neck. At first Mason was okay with it, and although that little voice was telling him to push the guy off and that something was up, the alcohol in his veins was telling him to ignore it.
It was only when he felt something weird that his brain seemed to actually piece something together. His eyes widened as he went to pull away from the guy and the arms around his waist tightened. “Ah ah ah. Not so fast. It wouldn’t be nice if my meal just ran away.” The lisp that happened on certain sounds made Mason start trying to really get away. He grabbed the arm around his waist to try and pull it off and when he went to yell at the guy, a hand clamped over his mouth. “It’s only a little bite. And you have such sweet smelling blood.” The vampire held Mason’s head in place with the hand over his mouth as Mason tried to pull his arms off. No no no no no no. This wasn’t going to happen. He could feel the fangs brushing his skin and his eyes widened even more. The fear he felt escalated above anything he’s felt and he only hoped someone noticed before it was too late.
