Roman sighed as she finally was released from work at the local diner. Alan had told her to go home, and spend some time with her brother, and not to worry about it. So, Roman got in her car, and drove to the house she shared with her brother, and her father. If you could call him that, she thought to herself. Derek Lancaster was nothing more than her sperm donor, and housing manager. At least, that's what she called him. She didn't even wanna call him that either. He was always out at a bar, or so intoxicated he could sleep for days. He'd probably sleep through the freaking apocalypses. It took maybe twenty minutes for her to get to the house, and when she did, she could hear Julian and his friends in his room talking about their little supernatural club. Roman popped her head in, and said, "Jules, I'm home. I see you're meeting with the dorks, so I'll be in my room if you need me." Julian got beat red, and huffed at her. "We are not dorks. The supernatural exists Ro, and we can prove it to you." Roman laughed, and left his doorway, and went across the hall to her own room.
She changed from her awful work clothes to something more comfortable. She jumped on her bed, and turned on the tv to the local news. She muted it, and got her drawing book out. She wanted to finish the picture she had started a few days ago. She had barely gotten into drawing when Julian came barreling into her room. "Julian! You can't just do that!" He looked excited, and completely ignored what she had said to him. "Roman! You have to come with his tonight! We have a lead on a.. vampire," Julian whispered the last word, and Roman couldn't help, but bust out into laughter. She just kept laughing, and almost fell off her bed doing so. "Julian, there is no such thing as vampires. Just because someone looks pale, and kind of creepy doesn't mean you can label them," Roman was wiping away the tears from her eyes when she saw Julian's face. "Oh come on Julian. You don't seriously believe in that stuff?" Julian glared at her, and said, "We need to borrow your car."
Now, Roman really started laughing. "You only have a permit Julian, you can't drive it." He gave her the puppy dog eyes, and she sighed. "Fine, fine! I'll drive you and the dorks around to track a vampire," Roman got out of bed, and started putting on her shoes. Julian looked super excited, and ran across the hall to tell the guys that she had agreed. Roman hated how much Julian had her under his thumb sometimes. That kid could get anything he wanted from her. Roman walked out, and ushered the boys into the car. There were four of them all together, and each of them had a camera, flashlight, and a bottle of water. Roman sighed at she started the car, and looked at Julian. "Okay, where to?" she asked him. "Well, he's been known to frequent a few bars in town, but my source also says that he has been known to go into the tunnels," Duncan said from the back. Roman glanced in her rear view mirror, and rolled her eyes. "The tunnels? Really? You want to go down there?" Julian shrugged, and Roman sighed.
To the tunnels it is, then. She put her car in drive, and started towards were one of the entrances was. It took about twenty minutes to get there, and find a decent place to park. Once they were parked, everyone turned on their camera, and flashlights, and headed towards the entrance. "Okay, a few rules before we go in, boys. One, absolutely no separating. Second, do NOT take anything you find, and third, don't do anything stupid," she told them, and they all mumbled a yes ma'am. Roman clicked on her flashlight, and followed at the end. When they got in there, it was really creepy. Julian began talking in a whisper to his camera, and kept leading the way. They had been walking for a good ten minutes before Cameron whispered, "Did you guys see that?!" Roman glanced up, and briefly saw a shadow play across their lights. She shoved her way towards the front, and said, "Okay, I'm taking lead. Everyone stay close," it was probably some animal. She turned towards where she believed the shadow to have gone. There is no such thing as vampires, she kept telling herself.
