Tori put her suitcase in the trunk of her mother's car before she slammed it shut. She had spent a few days at home for the holidays, and it was nice to see them again, but she was sort of happy to be leaving. Victoria was starting to realize that she and her family different views on things, and they were starting to irritate her. Other than that, she quite honestly missed being at the academy. Particularly a certain shifter who seems to have captured her attention.. Not that she would ever tell him or her family that. Tori walked back up the front steps of the house, and hugged her family. They all whispered something in her ear, some encouraging, some just random things. After she had hugged everyone, she went back to the car, and got in with her mother. Tori glanced at her mother, who seemed to not even notice she was watching her. They hadn't talked much since Tori went before the Elders, and made "a fool of herself" in her mother's words.
"Victoria, I can feel you staring at me," her mother said sternly. Tori struggled, and turned to look out the window of the car. This would be an awkward car ride back. Really, it hadn't been that big of a deal. She went before the Elders, and told them that she wasn't ready to take over quite yet, and that she'd like to do somethings before she settled into the leadership. It wasn't such a drastic request, and her mother acted like she herself had never been young before. The Elders weren't even mad at her, so why did her mother have the right? Oh wait, she didn't. Victoria crossed her arms, and glared out the window. Her cousins never got that kind of scolding from their mother. "Victoria, don't sulk. It isn't lady like," she said through clenched teeth. "I guess the other ladies will just have to get over it," Victoria mumbled out. Her mother's hands got white on the steering wheel, but nothing was said after that. The car ride couldn't have ended any sooner.
Her mother had stopped the car, but Victoria was already unbuckling, and opening her door. Her mother didn't even climb out of the car, just popped the trunk, and waited. Tori grabbed her bag, slammed the trunk closed, and walked towards her dorm building. She could careless if her mother was upset at her. Okay, maybe she did a little, but not enough to apologize for something she didn't need to apologize for. When she walked in the building, she waved to the girl behind the counter. The girl looked like she was going to say something, but forgot what it was. Victoria shrugged, and kept walking. She dug out her keys, and unlocked the door. She put her key chain in her mouth so she would be able to open the door, and keep it open to roll her suitcase in. Victoria had the pleasure on not being assigned a roommate yet.. Or so she had thought. She walked in, and looked up startled. Someone had moved things into her room, and set up their side of the room. She glanced around, and saw a girl sitting on her bed. "Uh, hi." It was the only thing that could come to her brain at the moment. No one had told her she was getting a roommate. Normally the people at the desk told... Victoria put the confused face of the girl up front, and her new roommate together. That must have been what the girl forgot to tell her, and was trying to remember.
