sing me a song of a lass that is gone, say could that lass be i, merry of soul she sailed on a day
Penelope was rather enjoying her weekends in Collision Falls. The school was close to town and the town was rather cute. Her new friends were busy studying and her adoptive father had papers to grade so, Penny got the day to herself. On this particular day she had decided on a bit of shopping. She had some Christmas money and gift cards and wanted to treat herself. She didn’t really need anything in particular but that wasn’t the point of shopping to her. The point was to find more cute things to wear and somehow shove into her tiny dorm closet. Maybe I should get some of those space bag things too,” she thought as she made a quick stop for some coffee.
Vanilla latte acquired, she continued on her way. It was a bit chilly and a bit foggy, as usual. It wasn’t raining yet, but Penny was sure it would at some point. She double checked her purse for her umbrella and then pulled the hood up on her bright red raincoat just in case. She clearly wasn’t in a hurry, as she moved down the street at a leisurely stroll, looking at this store and that. A slight drizzle started and she ducked into the nearest store. Which turned out to be a bookshop. Penny shrugged. It was as good of any place to waste some time as she waited for a stop in the rain. She loved books just as much as she loved her fashion.
She pushed her hood back down again and headed towards the young adult section. Just because she was in college didn’t mean she was too old for the so-called “teen books.” Besides she’d become quite interested in dystopian series and there were just more of those in the young adult category. She picked up the newest release and examined the cover.
