GENERAL:: Jamie is a soft-spoken boy who wears his heart on his sleeve. He doesn't yell, and usually sounds like he's mumbling. He really isn't one to talk a lot, and it takes some egging on to get some words out of him. Even in classes, he takes to not saying much. Volume on him is minimum. He doesn't yell, and has a tendency to mumble. Jamie has grown used to being asked to repeat himself more than once for the same sentence. When words do come out of his mouth they're polite. He says his please and thank you's. Even then, Jamie is more of a listener than a speaker. He doesn't mind sitting through someone ranting about their problems, or rambling on about their passion. He just doesn't like when people ask for advice or his opinion. He just doesn't know what to say, and doesn't want to mess anything up by saying the wrong thing.
Jamie is really just a bundle of feelings. He doesn't really hide, and isn't good at it if he tries. His feelings are written all over his face, and his heart is worn on his sleeve. He is easy to embarrass, and holds onto that embarrassing moment longer than he should. He quickly shuts up and tries to escape embarrassment as soon as possible. He doesn't like to see people judge him. If they have to, he'd prefer for it to be behind his back where he couldn't face them.
Past that quiet little shell of his, Jamie's a pretty friendly guy. He listens, and doesn't really judge people on first impressions. He gives people a chance. While small talk is awkward, he can get more chatty the more he knows someone. He's also big on expressing himself physically. Jamie loves to hug friends, family, anyone he's close to. Hugging, holding hands, he just likes to be close to people he knows well.
HISTORY
FAMILY::
Tian Liu - Father - Wizard
Nancy Liu - Mother - Human
Sunny Liu - Sister - 19 - Witch
Ashley Liu - Sister - 17 - Witch
PLACE OF ORIGIN:: San Francisco, California
LOCATION:: Student living at the Academy.
HISTORY:: Tian and Nancy Liu met in Taiwan. Nancy didn't know the man she loved was a magician. At least until he told her when he proposed. She said yes, and they married without secrets from one another. So when they had a couple of cute little daughters who showed signs of accidental magic, Tian and Nancy were the first to know. Tian tried to teach his children all he could especially with alchemy and divination, but found teaching difficult. When the girls were still young and random with magic, the Lius moved to America.
It was in the year they moved that Jamie was born. His two sisters found joy in playing with their very own little brother. As a little boy he was quiet too with select mutism. it was impossible to get him to talk in front of strangers or in school. He'd whisper into his parents' or sisters' ears. From a young age, Jamie was fascinated by magic. He'd watch his father work his magic, and loved to watch his sisters learn. He wanted to do that too. And the accidental magic spurts he had at times were proof that he could.
His magic bursts occurred a bit more often than his sisters', and usually led to something breaking. He didn't like how that happened, so tried to learn as his sisters did. His divination attempts led to misreadings. His attempts with alchemy was better. He could change substances completely, but not easily, and it often led to more accidents.
However, his chance to learn more came, and he took it at thirteen when he was sent to the academy just as Sunny and Ashley were. His first year there was a bit of a mess, and he took a while to adjust to living far from home. However, a year later, Jamie has a great opportunity to learn his magic, and he doesn't want to give up.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
On the East coast, Amadeus made a pitstop in a little town in the garden state, New Jersey. There was a quaint little motel, only ten rooms or so, that he decided to spend the night in. Unfortunately, the rooms were taken or out of order. He would've been content with an out of order one. A run down room for a run down kid sounded fine with him. But either way, the owner didn't let him.
Thus, the teen was on his way to a shopping area across the street. He might as well eat as he works out his situation. The Chinese food in this particular town was pretty good. He's had better, but he enjoyed four rounds of lo mein before he called it quits. The decision Amadeus made during the meal was to just to hit the sack at a park. He passed one on his way to the motel, and it was easier than going to the next place over. Besides, even Kerby was tired.
Amadeus found himself a bench to bunk. There were plenty, but he picked one close to foliage incase he had to take off. His main concern was any cops that skimmed through parks to make sure no one was doing exactly what he was doing. It didn't take him too long to fall asleep as he stared at a tree above him. How soundly the pup on his chest was sleeping was a sense of safety.
However, later in the night he was woken up rather suddenly by the little barks that came from Kerby. Looking up, the coyote looked alarmed with ears back and fur sticking up. Amadeus sat up quickly and looked around. The only threat he could see was possibly a group of men a few benches down the little walk way. It was assumed they were in a gang. They were coordinated with clothes, not really matching, but enough to tell they were together. And boy did they look unhappy that Kerby was making noise at them.
"Hey that mutt woke the kid up!" One of them pointed over at Amadeus. He wanted to correct them that the pup wasn't a mutt but a coyote, but the few guys starting towards him made him decide otherwise. "Don't worry, we can't make sure the kid doesn't see nothing!" Another chuckled, clenching his hand into a fist.
Amadeus knew well all that implied, and didn't want part of it. He hopped off the bench and started quickly into the wooded area. Peeking back to make sure Kerby was following, he unfortunately caught a glimpse of some of the guys giving a chase after him.
